One of San Pablo City’s Most Wanted Caught

On July 7, 2010, PhilSTAR.com reported that one of the most wanted fugitives in San Pablo City, Laguna was recently nabbed by police during a manhunt operation.

Arrested

Meloger Penaloza, 29, was arrested in his house at Brgy. Sta. Cruz, Putol, San Pablo City, last July 4 around 5:45 p.m. According to the Police, Penaloza is listed as sixth most wanted criminal in the city and he is wanted for murder. Read the rest of this entry »

Jobs Fair On June 30 – July 1, 2010 and July 21 – 22, 2010

This is a great news for all of us who are currently unemployed. Balitang San Pablo reported that there will be a Jobs Fair on June 30 – July 1, 2010 and on July 21 – 22, 2010 at the PAMANA Hall of our City Hall Complex. The Jobs Fair will be from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM. The jobs that will be available are from those businesses who will open up shop in SM San Pablo.

Those who are going to the Jobs Fair are requested to prepare the following:

  • School Records
  • Bio-Data or Resume
  • Social Security System ID
  • and 2×2 ID Picture

Join Milo’s 34th National Marathon In San Pablo City

This year’s 34th National Milo Marathon aims to raise 4,000 pairs of rubber shoes. These rubber shoes will be donated to various public schools in cities where the races will be held and San Pablo City is one of those cities.

Races will be conducted in Dagupan City (July 11), Baguio City (July 18),General Santos City (July 25), Davao City (August 29, Cebu City (September 5), Tagbilaran City (September 12), Dumaguete City (September 19), Iloilo City (September 26), Naga City (October 3), San Pablo City (October 10), Batangas City (October 17), Puerto Princesa (October 31), Tarlac City (November 7), Olongapo City (November 14), Butauan City (November 21) and (Cagayan de Oro City) on November 28). – Source: The Sports News Central

It seems that our beloved City is going to build a New Detention Cell Building. How did I find out? Well, they are currently accepting bids for the supply of construction materials amounting to PHP 995,000 (see screenshot). The ad is posted on HelloTrade.com and the listed Contact Person is a certain Paul Michael M Cuadra of T. Dizon Street.

Noynoy Aquino Attended Ivy Arago’s Wedding

President-elect Benigno Aquino III was in San Pablo City last Saturday, June 12, 201 (Independence Day), to attend reelected Congresswoman Ivy Arago’s wedding. Other political personalities that attended the wedding were Sen. Manuel A. Roxas III, Sen. Franklin M. Drilon, Justice Arturo D. Brion, Rep. Liwayway Vinzons-Chato and Betty Nantes.

Doña Leonila Park Featured

On June 7, 2010, Francis Emralino featured Doña Leonila Park in his blog titled Back Trails. In his blog, he posted a few nice photos of the park and even wrote a brief information and a little commentary about it.

But then all is well now, for alas, I have learned that the name actually refers to the wife of the then President Carlos Garcia, to whom the park is named. It is officially a mini-forest park. – CLICK HERE TO READ FULL POST

Unfortunately, the park is not as beautiful as it once was. The park needs some fixing and not just your typical patching up. For a place so close to those in power (Local Government), yet it seemed so far for them to see the state the park is in. I guess they’re content in simply keeping it clean.
