You're babies are in good hands with Dra. Belen Chumacera. She takes care of my two girls also and I should say that I am one of those many parents who are really satisfied with her service. Plus her staff Rizza and Pinky are very friendly and efficient.

The dentist's name is Dra. Rita Chumacera (sister of Dr. Jovi)

No one can ever deny it that in the Philippines, the very word "supot" carries with it such disparaging intent to embarass the person being called "supot". Little kids are usually teased "supo!" or "supot ka pa" which means "uncircumcised!" or "you are not yet circumcised" as if circumcision is required and remaining uncircumcised is a violation.

This cultural way of teasing kids boxes them and controls their mind, as if hypnotically, to never question about circumcision or that they have the right to choose not to get cut if they don't want to. It frames the young mind to think that circumcision is the way it is and there is no other way of coming to age except by undergoing the cutting. Any Filipino guy who may show any weakness are sometimes called against their back to be "baka supot pa" or "he is probably still uncircumcised".

Such attitudes are of course very discriminatory as it tells us that "supot" is not accepted. It tells us thatif you are supot, you do not belong. Filipinos even have the idea that if you are supot, you should not be Catholic. But this is of course the opposite of what the Vatican teaches.

By ignorance, Filipinos get circumcised as adolescents without giving them the opportunity of choice through the presentation of the pros and cons of circumcision despite the fact that there is no medical need for it. They never knew that the western men they most admire are actually uncircumcised and that of course includes the Vatican priests, bishops and the Pope whom they highly revere!

By grouping together, the uncircumcised Filipinos feel happy and proud having remained intact due to their personal choices despite strong cultural bias against supot. At least they know that they are not ignorantly led to subject their own body to be cut without any medical, physical or even religious (except for Muslims and Jews) necessity.

It is the advocacy of the Uncircumcised Filipinos to educate the Filipinos about the harms and non-necessity for circumcision as well as to offer moral support to those who have been stigmatized by the culture.
