When To Ask For Car Insurance Discounts

Friday, June 4th, 2010

I don’t have a car myself but I’m pretty sure that many of you are. So, for those who do, below is an article about Car Insurance Discounts and when to ask for one.

Insured Car

If you are trying to save money, one of the easiest ways to do that is to by asking for car insurance discounts. Most insurance companies can offer substantial discounts but will not offer them to you. You will have to know what type of discounts you may be able to use. If you have a newer vehicle, some of the features on your vehicle can lower your insurance premium. If you have an older vehicle that is normally kept inside a building or garage during the evening, you should be able to get a discount. If you buy more than one policy with an insurance company, you should be able to save some money. (more…)

San Pablo City’s Official Website, A SPAM Blog?

Sunday, May 9th, 2010

The last time I visited our city’s official website was when I blogged about it. Today, I had a chance to check it out again and I noticed that, whomever is developing or maintaining it, they have changed it into a blog. They have also changed the design of the site and it is now more pleasing to look at.

Unfortunately, I also noticed that it is filled with SPAM posts (see screenshot). Almost nothing in the front page was about our beloved San Pablo City. Take note that this is our City’s Official Website and they are milking it like a cow with SPAM posts. (more…)

Online Piano Lessons

Saturday, April 24th, 2010

Today,  everything can be learned or studied online. For example, I learned how to create, design or develop websites online. There are hundreds of websites in the internet that offers FREE and paid Tutorials or Lessons. If you are interested in learning something then just find a subject of interest and Google it. I’m pretty sure you’ll find something that will help you learn more about that particular subject.

Now, if you are interested in piano lessons then a quick Google search will point you to some websites that offers it. Another good place to search for piano lessons is YouTube because you will not only get information about it, you will also get a lot of demonstration videos and some even offers FREE piano lesson videos (like the one shown above).

Digitel, Not So Reliable and Globe Wireless Internet Service

Monday, March 29th, 2010

As a Freelance Web Designer, all of my work, projects and clients are online and that means that I also need to be online at least 12 to 16 hours everyday. Not being able to do so means lost of business, lost of clients, lost of projects and ultimately lost of income. A couple of weeks ago, Digitel, my internet service provider or ISP, experienced a major problem with one of their line which according to one of their staff was around Balagtas Boulevard. This caused an interruption of their service in the immediate area where the problem happened and, unfortunately, we were in that immediate area.

What the exact problem was? I don’t exactly know. Contacting them was very difficult because the phone was also dead, not just the internet service. We have to either contact their Hotline using a Digitel phone in the next barangay or visit their office at Colago Avenue. Calling their local business office would just be a waste of time since they were not answering any calls. I should know because we called many times. (more…)

Are Mailboxes Important?

Tuesday, February 16th, 2010

I was doing my daily regular round of Entrecard dropping when I stumbled upon a blog post about decorative mailboxes. It seems that in countries like Canada and the US having mailboxes, residential mailboxes for private homes and commercial mailboxes for businesses, is a big deal. They even have websites where people can purchase mailboxes in various styles and designs.

Mailboxes

I guess here at home, we don’t think too much of whether we need a mailbox or not for our house or home. I don’t see many homes that have them. Those homes that do have mailboxes, they kinda have it built into their gates and I don’t think they are being used either. I can say that mailboxes are not that widely used or common here in our country unlike in most western and modernized countries like Canada and the US. (more…)

Union Bank San Pablo, Wish We Have One

Saturday, January 23rd, 2010

Now that it is almost certain that our humble city will be having it’s very own SM Mall, I’m wishing that Union Bank of the Philippines opens a branch in it. Why? Because I have a Debit Card account with them. LOL!

Credit Cards

Currently, I have to go to Union Bank Alabang Town Center every time I need to renew my card and if I want to add funds to it then the closest branch to San Pablo City is in Calamba City, Laguna. Come to think of it, San Pablo City has many banks but, unfortunately, the one where I have an active account in does not have a branch here. (more…)
