    2012 Coco Carnival Queen Parade

Coco Festival | January 13th, 2012 by San Pablo City

Here are some pictures of today's 2012 Coco Carnival Queen Parade. The participants in today's Coco Carnival Queen wore gowns made from coconut.

Today I spent the afternoon at Rizal Avenue. I was there to watch the afternoon activities which included the Coco Carnival Queen and Float Parade and this year’s Street Dancing Competition. If I remember it correctly, the parade started with the Local Government Units and it was headed by a bunch of politicians. I didn’t took pictures of them because their faces are already plastered all over the city.

The parade of Coco Carnival Queen Contestants followed the Local Government Units. All of them were wearing gowns made from coconut. The gowns were very creative but they look kinda uncomfortable to wear. In fact, some of the contestants of the Coco Carnival Queen had parts of their gowns fell-off while they were parading.

Seeing them repair it with the help of their assistants while they were walking was kinda funny. One of the contestants had his coconut skirt fall-off but he didn’t take notice of it and just continued with the parade. His assistant picked-up the skirt and run after him. His assistant helped him wear the skirt. Well, I’m not sure if that person was his assistant but he did help him with the skirt.

Also, my daughter told me that one of the Coco Carnival Queen Candidates tripped and fell. Unfortunately, I didn’t see it. My daughter was with her friends and they were located somewhere near the main stage.

Anyway, below are some pictures of the Coco Carnival Queen Candidates. The quality of the pictures are not great so please bear with it.
