The last time I visited our city’s official website was when I blogged about it. Today, I had a chance to check it out again and I noticed that, whomever is developing or maintaining it, they have changed it into a blog. They have also changed the design of the site and it is now more pleasing to look at.
Unfortunately, I also noticed that it is filled with SPAM posts (see screenshot). Almost nothing in the front page was about our beloved San Pablo City. Take note that this is our City’s Official Website and they are milking it like a cow with SPAM posts.
Our City’s Official Website should have news and updates about our city and it should be used as a medium of communication between us, the residents, and our Local Government Officials but instead it is filled with SPAM posts.
Secret SEO Code? Sex After Pregnancy? Super Immunity? Potty Training Book? The entire front page has nothing but those posted with links to products and offers (see screenshot).
I understand the need of making money from our websites specially if the website owner is not funded or sponsored by anyone but for an Official City Website using the .GOV.PH domain I would assume it is funded or a budget from the City Government is allocated for it. If not and whomever is maintaining it needs money then he shouldn’t be SPAMMING it like that because it’s not benefiting our city.
Is the person or company maintaining/developing our City’s Official Website even a resident of San Pablo? If not then that explains the lack of passion for it.
By the way, how was the development of our City’s Official Website awarded?
