Last Sunday, San Pablo City together with the entire country and the whole world witnessed professional boxing history when our very own Manny Pacquiao defeated Miguel Cotto via TKO in the 12th round to grab his 7th Division Boxing Title as the new WBO Welterweight Champion.

Manny Pacquiao Wins

Celestron Cable, a local cable channel provider here in San Pablo City, aired the fight between Manny Pacquiao and Miguel Cotto LIVE to its subscribers. The airing of the fight was sponsored by the City Government of San Pablo City.

The fight lasted 12 rounds but most boxing experts and analysts say it ended much earlier. After being knockdown twice and pummeled in the 9th round, Cotto just stayed away from Manny. It was obvious that he was just trying to finish the fight standing. Too bad for him, the referee saw that he could no longer fight and stopped the match in the 12th round.

This win cemented Manny Pacquiao’s name in Pro Boxing’s history as the only boxer who has won 7 titles in 7 weight divisions.
