A Radio Station Featured San Pablo City

Last week I received a phone call from Jade and it was about featuring San Pablo City in one of their Radio Programs and no it wasn’t our local radio stations. At first, I thought it was a crank call because why would someone from a radio station call me about featuring San Pablo City? Wouldn’t it be better if they called someone from the Local Tourism Office of San Pablo City?

By her second call, which was a week later, I was a little bit convinced that it was not a crank call and that she was really with a radio station. At that point, I was thinking of referring her to the Local Tourism Office but I don’t know anyone in that office and, not only that, I don’t have their number. I really don’t want to be their resource person, but since the only person I know who knew more about San Pablo City than I am is now in Batangas, I have no choice but to go through with it.

    The Broadcast

April 9, 2008 – I received the call at around 1:00 pm, I think. The host or hosts (their were three of them I think) will talk to me through the phone and when I went on the air I was like inside a room with people who I have never met before. I don’t know any of their names and I don’t know if the entire thing was real or not.

Real or not, I tried my best to make our city look and sound really beautiful and interesting. Well, I don’t have to convince myself, I know how beautiful our city is because I live and grew up here but trying to convince other people is very different.

Highlights of the discussion were the seven lakes specially Sampalok Lake and the development around it, the Coco Festival, buko pie, places to visit like resorts and hotels, jeepneys and stainless utencils and a few other things.

I also mentioned some specific places like Tahanan Ni Aling Meding, Kusina Salud, Villa Escudero Resort and Plantation, Bato Resort, Bukid Garden Resort, Tierra De Oro Resort and a few others which I kinda forgot already. I think I also mentioned Komikero, Jojo Acuin also entered the discussion and I was also able to mention Visita Siete Lagos and the services they provide.

Anyway, the entire thing was about 30 minutes long and I just hope I was able to provide enough information about San Pablo City that will convince their listeners to pay us a visit and I also emphasized that the best time to come to San Pablo City is during the City Fiesta because of the Coco Festival.

[Note: My wife is saying that it was not DZRA who called and featured San Pablo City. Unfortunately, she deleted the text message that contains the information. I hope they text back to confirm so I can update this post. I don't want to delete it since I've already posted it. :( ]
