A child abduction scare is currently going around our fair city. A lot of residents are talking about it but what surprises me is that there are no media coverage about it. Well, I must admit that I’ve only heard stories of young children being taken by unknown individuals and I’ve also heard stories of people witnessing some of the abductions themselves. True or not, I feel that the local government should do something to alleviate the fear that is currently being experienced by the people. Believe me, just the thought of losing any of my kids scares me more than anything.

These stories of children being abducted have been circulating around the city for some months now. It is so widespread that it is very hard to dismiss it as a rumor anymore. The latest that I’ve heard is that children are being taken then returned with a body part missing. Now tell me if that does not scare you!

I remember a few weeks ago, I even received an e-mail from a concerned parent asking if there is any truth to such stories and why it is not being covered by media practitioners. Unfortunately, I don’t have an answer to both of those questions because I only heard the stories from other parents who also heard it from other parents as well.

If it is some kind of a practical joke to scare the public then it is not a very funny one. I have three kids of my own and I would never risk the safety of anyone of them that is why I never let any of my kids go out alone anymore. I make sure that somebody is with them every time they go outside.
